The Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, of 1948 in its article 2 defines genocide as: causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of a group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in a part.

This September 11th will commemorate four decades of the coup that overthrew and killed the Popular Unity government in Chile , headed by its constitutional president , Dr. Salvador Allende.
