Cuban women celebrate their International Day with historic achievements
Cuban women celebrate March 8 International Women´ Day with important achievement and promising realities, which prove that discrimination and gender gaps may be overcome in today´s world.
IN Cuba women enjoy an over-80-year expectancy of life, one of the lowest maternal mortality rate and constitute 48 percent of the civil labor, just to mention some of the Cuban women´s achievements in terms of empowerment and vindication of their rights.
Cuba: Third Imported Zika Case Reported
The third imported case in Cuba of a patient with Zika virus has been confirmed, corresponding to a Cuban voluntary worker, a 43 year-old Laboratory Technician who arrived in the country from Venezuela (Merida) on March 1 st, 2016, and lives in the municipality Florida, eastern Camagüey province, informed a note issued by the Public Health Ministry.
That same day he had a headache and the next day a rash in the thorax region. He was admitted on March 2 at the Amalia Simoni Hospital of the city of Camagüey.
Cuba condemns attacks against Brazil democracy
The Cuban Foreign Ministry condemned the attack against the constitution and democracy in Brazil, which has made former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva a target for unjustifiable and disproportionate judicial and parliamentary actions.
