ETECSA and Verizon Sign Agreement for Direct Voice Traffic
Cuba's Telecommunications Company S.A. (ETECSA) and Verizon Partner Solutions, the wholesale unit of the U.S. company Verizon Communications Inc., have completed negotiations and signed an agreement on direct interconnection for the exchange of international voice traffic between the U.S. and Cuba.
This agreement will initially allow to offer services of phone calls through direct interconnection between the two countries and will become operational once the implementation period and the technical tests performed by both operators end.
Women's foil event open Havana´s Grand Prix
The traditional Villa de la Habana Fencing Grand Prix, which will run until March 13, will start today through the knockout stage of the women's foil event.
The Gerardo Abreu Fontan Social Club will host the first competitive day of the strong competition, in which more than 110 women from 30 countries participate, including seven Cubans.
Cuba announces team to face Tampa Bay Rays
The Cuban Baseball Federation announced the shortlist for the match against the MLB team Tampa Bay Rays, agreed for March 22 at Havana's Latinoamericano Stadium.
Heriberto Suarez, national director of the sport in Cuba, said at a press conference that the squad is made up by four catchers, 12 infielders, 8 outfielders and 17 pitchers, while the team manager will be revealed in the coming hours.
