The UN General Assembly Elects New President

The United Nations General Assembly today elects in a plenary session of its 193 members the president of the 71th Session.

According to the geographical rotation applied for the position, Asia will provide the next president of the main deliberative organ of the organization, who will replace the Danish Mogens Lykketoft next September.

Prominent Analyst Says RT and TeleSUR broadcasts Halt in Argentina is Psychological Warfare

Russia Today contributor Adrian Salbuchi said that the suspension of the broadcasts of RT Spanish and TeleSUR in Argentina is “psychological warfare” and part of the West’s all-out onslaught on Latin America.

Japanese Researcher Recalls Legacy of Cuban Heroine Vilma Espin

Japanese researcher, Shigeko Ito, today recalled the legacy of the heroine of the Cuban Revolution, Vilma Espin. Espin was the principal actor in the political fight to give women full access to their rights.

She was also the president and founder of the Federation of Cuban Women in 1960. Shigeko Ito, an outstanding scholar, gave a lecture in Tokyo on the remarkable persona of this clandestine activist and the work she carried out.
