Interconnection a Topic to Debate in ACS Summit in Cuba

Senior officials the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) coincided today with the need to impel initiatives to improve the interconnection of the nations of the area with the intention of guaranteeing its development.

The marine, air, commercial connectivity, is one of the challenges that face the nations of the Caribbean Sea, stated the Cuban vice chancellor Abelardo Moreno to the press, in the context of the ACS experts' meeting, that precedes those meetings for the Foreign Ministers and the Heads of State and/or Government of the members.

The 7th ACS Summit begins in Cuba, Regional Unity as a Goal

The 7th Summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) begins today in this capital with the unity to meet the challenges of sustainable development, and climate change and regional peace, as major issues. The conclave, which will take place until Saturday at the Convention Palace and at the Revolution Palace, brings together representatives of the 25 member nations of the body, the seven associated states, and 21 countries and nine observer organizations, among other guests.

Raul Receives Visiting Belgian FM

Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, received His Excellency Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

During the cordial meeting, held on Monday afternoon, they discussed progress in bilateral relations and potential for their development. Likewise, progress made in the links between the European Union and Cuba, in which the Kingdom of Belgium has played a constructive role, was verified.
