Third governmental visit to Santiago de Cuba

Díaz-Canel, together with his work team, began this Thursday the third cycle of governmental visits to the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, after a seven-month impasse imposed by Covid-19.The visit seeks to evaluate the economic and social results of that province , a debt that was truncated at the beginning of March.

With a reduced format and adapted to the 'new normality' and restrictions by Covid-19, the members of the Council of Ministers, in different working groups, will tour the Desalination Plant of Boca de Cabañas, the automation works of Santiago Aqueduct and the investments of Hydraulic Resources in Palma Soriano and in that city.

They will also learn about the work in the main production poles, and exchange with students and workers of the University of the East and the University of Medical Sciences, the Sports School, the Home for children without family protection and in scientific units such as the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the Center for Applied Electromagnetism.
