Cuban Medical Brigade Travels to Ecuador to Help Earthquake Victims

A brigade of the ''Henry Reeve'' International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in dealing with disasters and serious epidemics traveled to Ecuador to provide assistance to victims of the earthquake that hit regions of the country on Saturday.
An official note disclosed here today indicates that the group of specialists sent last night is reinforced with a rescue team.

This contribution is added to the more than 700 specialists of health care who provide services permanently in Ecuador and talked to the authorities of that country to provide assistance to the affected population, the text says.

The note says that Cuba reaffirms its solidarity and support for the government and the brother people of Ecuador before the tragedy caused by the earthquake of 7.8 degrees on the Richter scale, killing 272 people dead and injuring more than 2,000.
