The last Minstrel’s picture

During the last five years, I used to talk to “Bebo” (Roberto) Ruiz, a Cuban playwright and a theater professor, at Eduardo Garcia Delgado Art Instructors´ School, where he unfortunately passed away.
Roberto used to talk about many topics on his conversations, radio among them, a means of communication he would have loved to add to his long curriculum.

Dancing with La Conga de Los Hoyos

Felix Bandera explains with pride: “We filmed Añoranza por la conga (Yearning for Conga), that videoclip by Sur Caribe, here in the neighborhood, at El Campito. It was very special and swept at the Lucas TV awards”.

He looks at the house of the former director of La Conga de Los Hoyos , Sebastian Herrera Zapata (Chan), and evokes that stage where the also celebrated group from Santiago made history because of its way of combining the bugle with percussion instruments.

Yumié Rodríguez: Like Mother, Like Daughter

Yumie Rodriguez Yumie Rodriguez was born in the city of Santa Clara, located in the central province of Villa Clara, on September 25, 1973, from two outstanding figures of radio in Villa Clara and the country. Her father, Rolando Rodriguez Frenes, was the director of radio in the province for over 20 years, and her mother, Zady Flor, is an excellent announcer, whose voice identified the CMHW provincial radio station for many years and who is presently working at the island’s international radio station, Radio Habana Cuba.
