For several weeks, the staff of the Radio Havana Cuba international station (RHC) has been receiving messages of congratulations and greetings, on occasion of its 50th anniversary held on May 1st, from many places of the world.

Doris Cairo: the woman devoted to the radio of the Isle of Youth
The director of Radio Caribe, in the special municipality of the Isle of Youth is a smart and cheerful woman and with an impressive voice. Doris Cairo welcomes those who come to her, with her infectious smile, her will for living and her love for the radio makes her an indispensable person. For this reason the Portal of the Cuban Radio visited The Isle of Youth ( popularly known as Treasure Island) to talk with this Villa Clara woman who became an Isle of Youth settler. MS: Where is Doris Cairo from? How did you get to know the Isle of Youth?
DC: I was born in the province of Villa Clara in a very small town called Sierra Morena, in the municipality of Corralillo, in the north region of Villa Clara, it was a beautiful land, the land of painter Romañach and also where Dora Alonso wrote her famous novel Furia Blanca.
