Journalists from nine provinces nominated for awards in Sugar Industry Contest

Representatives of media organizations from nine Cuban provinces compete for the top spots of the Annual Sugar Industry Journalism Competition reported the organizers of the event.

The province of Las Tunas leads the list with six papers, followed by Granma, Villa Clara and Havana, each one with two papers, and the remaining provinces are Holguin, Ciego de Avila, Cienfuegos, Mayabeque and Artemisa.

Sagua la Grande, in the central province Villa Clara, is a territory enriched by good radio presenters. Rogelio Castillo Moreno is a good example of dedication to the Cuban radio. He has written and directed the radio program "Pañoleta Azul" (Blue Neckerchief) for many years providing his talent in favor of the children.

Catillo is a writer, playwright, actor, director of radio programs, and journalist. He is also member of the Arts Council of the provincial radio station CMHW since its founding and founder of a teaching course for children on Radio in Villa Clara province.

Magaly Bernal: A passionate Actress on Cuban Radio

Magaly Bernal works as an actress, announcer and writer of programs for the Radio 26 station located in the western province of Matanzas. She has been working at this station for 43 years with passion and dedication.

"I began to work at the radio when I was only 19 years old after I graduated from an acting course, but at that time, no actresses were required; so I took a radio announcing exam. Fortunately, I passed the exam and without hesitating I entered into a booth to host a show," said Magaly.
