
Eighth Summit of ALBA-TCP
ALBA signatory countries will made in their countries a great impact project: The clinical, genetic, and psychosocial study of disable people in more advanced use of science and the purpose of reaching the most humble and disadvantaged communities throughout the region, only ALBA can conceive and implement a project of such profound human sense, said Cuban President Raul Castro, at the closing ceremony of the eighth two-day summit that met in the Cuban capital.
We are committed to establishing a network of science, technology and innovation, aimed at building capacities for the generation and transfer of knowledge and technologies in key sectors of economic development, said Raul.
Referring to the Declaration adopted by member countries stressed the special communiqué on climate change ahead of the upcoming world meeting in Copenhagen.
Raul recalled the origin of ALBA 5 years ago in 2004, and described the successes of the organization born of a clear integrated vision of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and President Hugo Chavez.
He warned that in Latin America and the Caribbean today with peculiar sharpness manifest contradictions between progress and reaction, between the rights and demands of the peoples historically vilified and the interests of transnational capital and the traditional oligarchy, is an antagonistic contradiction -- warned-you can not deal with naivety and carelessness.

President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua said that ALBA has made a new alternative, not only for Latin America and the Caribbean, but for all peoples. Patricia Rodas, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Honduras, speaking on the final session of the Eighth Summit of ALBA-TCP to recognize the position of the Alliance of total confrontation established the de facto regime in his country, calling for the position of its heroic people in their struggle to restore constitutional order.
ALBA is an idea used initially by Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, and was formally concretized in Havana on 14 December 2004 and is now an Alliance focused integration for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean that emphasizes combating poverty and social exclusion.
